Painting with light

My nieces were outside having fun with sparklers trying to “paint” a heart while snapping a photograph. Unfortunately I did not realize what they were trying to accomplish until AFTER they were out of sparklers. I suggested that we use flashlights instead to try their idea and guided them as they successfully achieved this great photo. This photo was the third one taken as we fine-tuned the shutter speed needed to allow for the action of painting the heart. The final results: Shutter Priority set at 1 second exposure + Rear Curtain Flash. (Taken with a Nikon D5100)
